About the job
As a Robotics Hardware Design Engineer you will
Design and bring up some electrical systems (PCBs, cabling, sub-systems, and components).
4+ layer PCB design containing power electronic components
Layout design suitable for mass production
Develop functional specifications, design verification plans and test procedures.
Design validation of new design electronic components
Debugging electronic components
Identifying and eliminating problems and / or points open to improvement arising from 3rd party components
Improving current products
Product enhancements to detect problems on the platform
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor and/or master’s degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Control Engineering or similar
2+ years of experience in electrical design, validation and integration of systems, subsystems, and components
Proficient in a PCB CAD software (Altium, Cadence, KiCad, etc)
Strong understanding of analog and digital circuits (micro-controllers, MOSFETs, op-amps, motor control, DC/DC buck converters, etc)
Understanding of power electronics concept
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with C/C++ and/or ROS
Experience characterizing and resolving EMI/EMC issues
Experience designing circuit boards and architecting systems in a mid/high volume robotics/automotive environment.
Experience taking PCBs and cabling from concept to production
Understanding of communication protocols (such as CAN, I2C, SPI, UART, Modbus, etc)
Knowledge of electrical simulation software (SPICE, CST, etc)
